Kids Super Hornet Top Gun Flight Simulator Brisbane!

15 Minute Kids Under 12 F/A-18 Introduction Simulator Flight Brisbane.

Our 15 minute fighter jet simulator introductory sessions are designed to give your child a short a taste of what flying is like and being in a fighter jet and experience it with a parent or guardian. Be warned though: it is addictive! Time will fly, and they won’t want to leave. You can book a second session on the day – subject to availability of the simulator, instructor, and other bookings.

How the Kids Under 12 Brisbane Flight Simulator Session Works.

Kids Under 12 must sit on the lap of a parent or guardian so they can see our the front of the cockpit and reach the flight controls. Taller kids approaching 12yo may be seated in the cockpit by themselves if they can see out of the front of the cockpit over the coaming/glareshield with or without a cushion.

The experience will allow your child to fly the aircraft simulator under supervision and with you in the cockpit. It’s not structured, so there’s no pressure. Simply step up into the cockpit, sit down and become a Top Gun.

You and your child will be given a short introduction on the flight controls by an instructor, and given instruction and guidance for the takeoff (and landing if there’s time). When ready you’ll apply afterburner and take off, then explore the basics of flight, and try not to crash. No problem if you do, the simulator resets airborne and you can continue the flight for the remaining time. The flight will leave you both buzzing. People say the time went too quickly. Time flies!

Our Brisbane Flight Simulators are operated by Air Combat Centre and Flight Rush Brisbane at Caboolture Airfield.

 

Driving Directions: The easiest way to find us is to type “Air Combat Centre” into the GPS on your phone and select the option for McNaught Rd, Caboolture QLD. Then simply follow the GPS directions.

 

Caboolture airfield is about 40 minutes drive from Brisbane Airport and 50 minutes from Brisbane CBD via various routes, which join on the M1 Motorway towards Sunshine Coast. The airfield is easily accessible from the M1 Motorway. Look for the “EXIT 152A” sign Caboolture/Bribie Island and follow the signs to Bribie Island. Keep right and follow the road, then turn left towards Bribie Island. At the traffic lights turn left on to Bribie Island Rd, then at the next traffic lights turn left on to Aerodrome Rd. Continue on Aerodrome Rd until it turns right and becomes McNaught Rd. Air Combat Centre (Flight Rush) is at the front of Aviation Heritage Centre (first hangar as you enter the car park at the airfield on McNaught Rd).

 

Train: The closest train station is Caboolture and is 4.1km. There are infrequent buses from Caboolture to the shopping centre near the airfield on Aerodrome Rd. However, car is the best option.

 

Parking: Parking is available in the main car park near the hangar, or on McNaught Rd near Hangar 104.

 

Aircraft Museum: Plan a visit to the Caboolture Warplane Museum (CWM) while you’re here (100m further down McNaught Rd). Our flyers and groups regularly visit the museum. For details of the CWM see cwpmuseum.com.au. Tell them Air Combat Centre recommended them to you.

FAQs for our Kids Under 12yo Brisbane Fighter Jet Simulator Session:

You will have the best flight simulator experience at Air Combat Centre in Brisbane.

Air Combat Centre have more flight simulators and flight experiences than anyone else in Australia. You have more choice in the simulator and packages available, or can buy a gift card that can be redeemed against the value of any of our simulators, including any new ones we may add in the future. 

The cost of a flight simulation experience in Brisbane depends on which simulator type is being used and also the length of the experience.

Current pricing starts at $198 for 30 minutes in our F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jet flight simulator, through all the way to $825 for our “See the G, Feel the G” Package flying the simulator and a flight in the Decathlon aerobatic aircraft all on the same day.

You can be the pilot and fly our F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jet flight simulators in Brisbane. Minimum age of 12 applies, unless coordinated and approved (refer to Terms and Conditions).

Packages are available including an introductory training flight on the Tecnam, or an aerobatic adventure in the Decathlon.

No, you don’t need any flying experience to fly a Brisbane flight simulator with Air Combat Centre.

We have experienced instructors who will provide a short briefing and guide you through your flight. It is important to listen to and follow instructions, and be smooth with the controls.

What to expect when you arrive at our Sydney flight simulator location.

A sign will be on the red front door of the hangar directing you to Air Combat Centre. You may have a short wait while we complete the previous session. Seating is available at the front of the hangar. We will greet you as soon as we can.

We operate on a fairly tight schedule and stay as close to session start and finish times as we can. Please arrive on time to be ready to commence your simulator session at the scheduled time.

On the day of your Brisbane simulator experience you should bring your booking, voucher or gift card details and provide them to the instructor.

Bring along one or two observers to watch your flight. Additional persons require prior approval and are subject to space available on the day.

Bring a camera, video, or your mobile phone to take photos and videos.

Bring a sense of adventure and a smile. And have fun!!
